- One weekly service on Sundays at 8:30 am
- Additional special services during the liturgical year (such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Holy Week)
- First right of refusal for weddings and funerals
Number and times of rehearsals
- One weekly rehearsal on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Play service music (preludes, postludes, and other appropriate music
- Accompany the congregation during hymn singing
- Accompany the choir (usually on piano for offertory anthems, communion anthems, introits, benedictions, and special music)
Qualifications
- Organ (and piano) performance skills at a level suitable for playing and accompanying in worship required
- Music degree (or currently pursuing music degree) preferred
- Experience playing and accompanying in worship preferred

- The organ at Galveston’s Trinity Episcopal Church was completed in June of 1989. Built by the Austin Organ Company of Harford, Connecticut, the three-manual drawknob console controls five divisions, including an antiphonal division with a trompette-en-chamade, located in the rear gallery of the church.
Additional Information
- Compensation: $25,000 to $40,000 depending on skills and experience
- Travel stipend or accommodations in Galveston can also be negotiated

- Worship Sundays, 9:00 am, with choir rehearsal & handbell practice at 8:00 am before the service
- Midweek services during Advent and Lent
Duties
- Shall be responsible for selecting appropriate music, providing leadership, for and directing the Adult Choir and Handbell Choir at the service regularly scheduled on Sunday mornings or any of the other special Festival Services
- Shall work with the Pastor to ensure appropriate organ and choral music has been selected for services
- Shall have creative freedom to develop new music programs to involve the congregation’s youth and other ministries and outreaches as implemented and approved by the Worship and Music Committee
- We expect the position to require 10 – 15 hours of work per week depending on the season. Fewer hours during the summer when the choirs are not meeting and more hours during Advent, Lent, etc.
Qualifications
- The minimum requirements for this position require the candidate to be synodically trained by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in music or have comparable experience and be able to play the organ and piano
